Freebie Friday - Jersey Shore

A thousand apologies for not posting Tuesday or Thursday. I might have to change the schedule because dear Lord my weeks are hectic.

So today I wanted to write about Jersey Shore. What a ridiculous show.

I would never suggest hitting a girl, but if someone needed to get smacked in the mouth it was her.

And if you watch the show because you love the people and try be like them then I'm not going to apologize for anything in this post because, let's be honest, you probably don't know how to read anyway. And I'm not even sorry for that joke because one of the people on the show, Ronnie, admitted that he's not good with tests so he didn't go to college cause he fails things and stuff. Seriously? Now he's probably getting paid to be drunk off his ass every night.

Look! A shaved gorilla.

What bothers me most about the show, and MTV in general, is that it's only about one night stands and blackouts. Seriously nothing else happened. Oh, two of the girls wrote a letter. That was awesome. IT WAS ALL CAPS AND THEY USED 2 INSTEAD OF SPELLING OUT THE DAMN WORD. NOW MAYBE IT'S JUST THE ENGLISH MAJOR IN ME BUT THIS I FIND THIS REALLY FUCKING ANNOYING.

"I use my looks to get people to accept me because I have no personality."

I really have nothing positive to say about this show. I at least expected a plot because it is in its second season, but the only thing that happened was drinking and someone cheated on someone. Oh, they made dinner but because they really can't do anything in life they dropped it on the floor.

The funniest thing that I've seen from Jersey Shore.

So what are your thoughts on the show? Let me know in a comment below. Follow me on twitter and I'll see you Sunday!

Sorry guys!

Sorry about not posting on Tuesday. Chances are I probably won't have time to write tonight either. I'll be sure to catch up this weekend though.

Hope everyone's weekend has been less stressful than mine!

MVM: Good to Be Me

Damn, it feels good to be me.

Sometimes I tend to forget to enjoy the simple things in life. When I get stressed, like here lately, I tend to get down and forget to smile, which is something nobody should do. So, as a pick me up here's a song to remind me that, damn, it feels good to be me.

PLATYO Day 29

So it's day 29 of the Project Lose a Ten Year Old and I still have done terrible, this last week especially. I've continued to eat out a lot and I haven't been running. But next week my girlfriend said she would go run with me, so I'm excited to get back to working out!

Also the school year has started up and is in full force. I've been very busy and I still have a lot of work to do before Chapter (my fraternity meeting) tonight, so today's post is going to be short. I hope everyone out there who is working on their diets are doing well!

Inside some of us is a thin person struggling to get out, but they can usually be sedated with a few pieces of chocolate cake.  ~Author Unknown

Freebie Friday - First Week of Class

So I was going to write a post about the movie "Full Metal Jacket" but I'm too tired. So instead I'm just going to tell you about my first week of class.

As I've already posted here, I have to read 25 books this semester. But I've since learned that I will actually be reading more because many of the required reading is articles or different things that we have to read online. I will be up to my neck in reading this semester. Which isn't really a bad thing because what's been assigned so far really does seem like it will be good books. But alas, it's a daunting task.

On top of that I'll be doing a lot for work and my fraternity. Both are things that I really love, but I always seem to stress out during the school year.

Oh well, it could be worse. I could be taking biology classes like my girlfriend. Bleh!

Topic Thursday! (Sorry for the tardiness...)

So it's Thursday and not Tuesday. The alliteration is still there! Anyway, I'm going to write about the "Bedroom Intruder" song. Have you heard it?

Now, you might be laughing your ass off and thanking me for showing you a hilarious video. You're welcome. Now after you send the link to your facebook profile listen up. There's important stuff going on in this video. That's right.

So at my school we have something called "Cat Crew" which is basically volunteers helping the incoming freshmen move into their buildings. The volunteers can be anyone who wants to help, including faculty. In my group, one of the professors I had over the summer was helping out along with some of my brothers.

As we were moving heavy furniture up the stairs, one of my brothers starts singing the Bedroom Intruder song. Laughing, I started singing along not knowing that my professor was right behind me. To my astonishment he laughed and said, "Yeah! I was talking to [another faculty member] and we discussed that when people get into a very emotional state they tend to revert back to their natural dialect."

Now, this might not seem interesting to you, but it caught me off guard. Firstly that my professors were current in viral videos, but also that they analyzed them like that. Looking at the video in that light, I can now see what they mean. Clearly rape is nothing to laugh about. I think the only reason we can laugh at this situation is because nothing happened because the brother stopped it. But how would you react if something like that happened and the media showed up right after? Then what would you do when that one interview started a internet frenzy making you a star over night?

It's interesting to think about how the things we take for granted have a major impact on others. Think about it, if you hadn't read this post and just watched the video what would be different? You would laugh and forward it to your friends with similar senses of humor. Then you'd move on and forget about it when the next viral video emerges. But how will this video affect Antoine Dodson?

I challenge you to take a look at the little, seemingly insignificant things tomorrow and think about an influence they might have on someone else, because things that are vital to you are insignificant to some people.
